I am going there soon, wife and 2 kids.. any tips or suggestions for the park.. we’ll be staying there for 3-4 days in the KC area, maybe a cabin/cottage there i saw on the web site.. anything I should know to make the trip better?
Absolutely, buy the two park pass!! There is a great Holiday Inn in the area near the Quick Trip to the West of the Park. There are many things to do in KC (ie; Royals games cheap tickets right now, T-Bones minor league team and great fun, Negro League Hall of Fame & Museum, Steamboat Museum) The Ameristar Casino is very close to the Park with a number of great restaurants and, of course, gambling. But there is also a theater and activities for the kids.
Don’t forget to get some great BBQ while you are in town. I am partial to Fiorella’s Jack Stack BBQ but there are many others.
