Proud parents of newborns are too busy to do much celebrating but they can usually get more elaborate when choosing party themes for babyÂ’s 1st birthday. Most one year olds will not have a very good grasp on the meaning of birthday parties for a few more years yet. They nearly always understand and appreciate that they are the center of a lot of attention. Character birthday cakes can be incorporated into the party theme very nicely at this age. Young children are fascinated by icing and the many pretty forms it takes. Many cake pans are marketed for home baking and most grocery store bakeries can decorate to suit the party theme.
