Question about an Amtrak reservation?
Am planning a vacation to Florida from Maine for my wife, 4-year-old son and myself. We’d like to take Amtrak service there. I tried to reserve a ‘bedroom’ on the trip (the leg from NYC to Orlando) and was told that the accommodations were too small to handle the number in my party. The description of the bedroom on the site says that the bedroom can accommodate up to 3 people. Am I missing something? Can I not reserve a bedroom for 2 adults and a four-year-old?
After doing some experimenting with the NYP-ORL trains (Silver Star and Silver Meteor), I see the error you get. I assume you’re including the reservation for three people, two adults, one child. If you read the description it says it can accommodate 2 adults. I think when they say three people, they mean one adult and two children.
I’d try calling Amtrak at (800) USA-RAIL and speaking with an agent to see if its possible to get the bedroom and if it’s possible to fit two adults and a child in together.
