How Do I Survive New York City?

I am planning on living in the big city, and I am curious on how to become an official New Yorker. How do I become aggressive and a very good negotiator when it comes to Cabs and whatever else. Also I would like to know how to live the life where I can have a big Condo and a huge friend base with an active lifestyle. ex:(Parties;Restaurants;Premieres;Hotels… Please help.— And I was unclear on my last question. To add on…I know I can’t just show up in NYC in this lifestyle, that’s obvious. I am looking for job titles and specific skills for those titles that I need in order to live this life. There’s plenty of people who do live this, I just want to know how they do. And for your reference on job titles I should name a few of my skills: Acting; Writing (Real well); Directing; Socializing; Running; and I also have a slight “No Mercy” Attitude at times.

Um okay, for starters, don’t “negotiate” or become aggressive with cabs. They are doing there job, taking you where you need to go, leave them alone, give them a tip (I give a dollar usually).

It sounds like you are … 15 years old? You clearly don’t have a job, and working in NYC is difficult. You have to be very driven, not just to support this fabulous, unrealistic lifestyle you hope to maintain (premieres? hotels? wtf?), but to succeed in life in general. On top of this, you have to actually be educated and smart, and if not that, be naturally gifted with charisma and/or some other talent.

Here is a tip: stop fantasizing about living this glamorous lifestyle and focus on yourself as a person first and what you have to offer people, companies, etc. The job market in NY is incredibly difficult, not to mention the fact that many places are just NOT hiring right now.
