I need help planning a kids birthday party!?
Help planning a kids birthday party!?
I am trying to figure out what to do for my boys birthday party. They are going to be 10 and 9 yrs old. And they are sharing the party.
The kids will be a mix of ages (family and friends from school) There are 17 kids in the family and my oldest invited some kids from school. So many people and age groups I am freaking out! Ages are from 1 to 12 mostly between 7-11 and 4 of them are 3 and under. Please help me with some ideas.
The party will be held at home (backyard party)
You need a theme to start with. And with such an array of ages I would suggest a circus theme….everyone loves a circus. You can rent MANY things from party stores that will keep this vast age group happy. Popcorn makers, cotton candy makers, sno-cones, warm pretzels. Have an adult willing to help coordinate certain areas…..such as face painting you can find face paints easily and it’s cheap fun. If your back or front yard is big enough rent a jumping gym. You can buy (at walmart) your own helium tank and blow up balloons for guests. Have party favors in brown paper sacks decorated by your kids and put balloons/bubbles/plastic toy animals/gum/crayons…..this is cheap. Have a popcorn maker give out bags of popcorn. Have a bucket toss. Give prizes……you can get a load of little toys from Oriental trading and give those out. Bean bag toss games. Hot dogs are a favorite for everyone and have large bowls of condiments so the guests can fix their own. Instead of cake have cupcakes and let the kids decorate their own to eat (put frosting into zip lock bags and snip the end…..the frosting is contained for less mess) Sometimes you can “rent” a clown to come to your party to do tricks or balloon art. There are so many things you can do with this theme. Good luck and have fun. Many times the simplest things are what makes your kids happy………go for fun not for quantity. One day they will appreciate all your efforts……probably won’t be until they have kids of their own though.
