Decorating for your Children’s surprise party
Once your birthday guest of honor is out of the house get your other kid guests over to help decorate. Make a special note on the birthday invitation that you’d like some help with the decorations and pretty soon you’ll have all the help you need. You might also enlist the help of parents and teachers when thinking of a theme for your surprise party. Once the house is decorated, you’ll have to close the drapes on the windows, so the guest of honor doesn’t see until they’ve entered the house. You might want to have a ‘quiet’ party activity in mind so your boisterous guests don’t give away your surprise as the guest of honor is arriving.
Location, location, location
As you well know, kids need entertainment. It’s not enough for them to yell ‘surprise’ and be entertained for the afternoon. Consider sending your birthday invitations for an afternoon at a kid-friendly restaurant, arcade, ice cream parlor, Movie Theater or your child’s favorite store. This will not only help with the entertainment, but will be a great way to keep your birthday party secret. Once the birthday invitations go out, you don’t have to worry about making any more plans for your home.
