Where should we go for a winter vacation?
My husband and I are trying to plan a trip right after christmas… I have never seen snow and would love to go somewhere beautiful with lots of fun things to do besides skiing. We thought about Denver, Colorado Springs, Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City…. Any other suggestions?? We have no kids and are in our 20s… Please help!!! I have never really traveled or seen lots of places so I’m really excited about planning this trip!!! Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Should I go thru a travel agent???

Mount Rainier in Washington is beautiful that time of year. There is a lodge at Paradise that is quite lovely. In the same general area is White Pass Ski Resort, which is a little gem of a resort that is hidden away. It is within an hour and a half from Portland Oregon, and two hours from Yakima Washington, and 3 hours from Seattle. You would be within an hour of several casinos.
Paradise can get kind of pricey, but there are other places that you can rent and have all to yourselves.
You don’t have to go through a travel agent with either. You can book online. I’d suggest flying in to Portland since it is closer. Spend the night there at one of the historical McMenniman Hotels, enjoy the bountiful beer selection that is available. Head off to the mountains in the morning. Enjoy the bulk of your vacation there. Finish your trip with a drive to Seattle. Stop by the Pike Street Market, watch them throw some fish around. Get a coffee at one of the many Starbucks in the city that it started in. Walk down the pier. There are hundreds of things to do in Seattle and plenty of places to look for them online. Plan to depart from SeaTac Airport.
Again you don’t need a travel agent, just internet access, a phone, and a credit card. Enjoy your winter vacation!
