Has anybody been to Thurso Caithness in the highlands of Scotland?
I was there bring in the New Year because I saw a video of last years Hogmanay street party in Thurso so I thought it would be quite good a bit different than Edinburgh. The people in Thurso are not very sociable with people they don’t know very weird indeed. I’ve been to many towns in Scotland but Thurso must be the most weirdess town in Scotland.
I have been to Thurso but it was 40 years ago! I found the town very likeable but had little contact with the locals.
It was a glorious summer day with crystal-clear views. From the coast outside the town there were breathtaking views of Orkney and Fair Isle.
The previous day I was at Cape Wrath, the extreme north-west of Sutherland and again there were views the length of the north coast of Scotland with Orkney and Dunnet Head clearly seen.
These were two days I still remember vividly.
