Cheap Edinburgh accommodation during Hogmanay?
I booked flights for three of us today to fly to Edinburgh for the Hogmanay festival, staying new years eve, and the 1st Jan.
The flights were ok, but I had no idea accommodation was as expensive as it is. I knew it would be pricey and limited but…. damn!!!
Could do an all-nighter during new years eve but does anyone know what other cheap options there are? Is it easy to stay outside of Edinburgh then use public transport to head into the city centre (during new years)?
Public transport into Edinburgh will be fine on the 31st
But the police will start closing roads to Traffic fairly early
Buses will have alternate routes
Buses will Still flow regularly
And there will be Buses, on the 1st To help people get home
Wrap up well – Because it will be VERY cold
Most accommodation in the Very centre of Edinburgh will be Booked by now
Some people book the next year as they leave
There are several hotels and B&B’s on Minto Street and Old Dalkeith Road
They are on the Main Bus routes. the Bus stops will be almost on the Doorstep
Do you have Tickets to get into the Gardens Concert?
If not Turn up early And Stay all day
Plenty of places to Eat and Drink around Princes Street
