any idea how to make cleaning “fun” for kids?
Im 18 and my single parent mom works full-time so i get ALL the household duties. Im also a part time student/part time sales associate. My mom seems to think since i and only part time in two things, it doesn’t amount to what she does (hence the reason i get all the chores).
Im responsible for a 4 yr old and a 10 yr old, both of which i believe can help somewhat with chores. obviously nothing too intense, but like little things picking up toys and such.
every time i try to get them to help though, its like pulling teeth and i end up doing it myself because its easier than trying to get them to help.
any idea on how to make cleaning something they dont mind doing? Like some sort of rewards system maybe?

There a book its called love and logic. My sisters and I have read it. Bascally one of the ideas in there is if. The child leaves a mess just ask them, “Oh do you want to pick up your toys or do you need me to do it?” And you want to be as calm and kind about it as possiable, if they make you pick it up say, “Ohh okay I guess you want me to do it.” And then put that toy or whatever it is they were playing with and put it somewhere where they can’t get it. And the next time the ask for it just say, “Oh I’m sorry because you had me pick it up you won’t get it back until tomrrow.” See if that works if not do look the book up its full of ideas like that. And one other thing don’t say, “I told you so” or anything like that just let them learn from their mistake. I hope that helps!
