Student travelling to Japan…?
I live in London. What’s the cheapest way i can get over to Japan and have fun next summer? I also would like to know of any good tourist attractions. Also does anyway know how much Japanese you will need to know to get by?
Yea, don’t buy a tour. You should research online and plan yourself to go to all the places you want, moreover, that way it costs less.
I recommend
Tokyo (Shibuya-very crowded most Tokyo like area, Harajyuku- you can get cheap but fashionable clothes, and Asakusa- old Tokyo town that’s like Edo Period)
Kyoto (old capitol of Japan, very beautiful and traditional, also tourists friendly)
and some countryside.
If you go during the summer, there will be many fireworks/summer festivals that are extremely exciting, so don’t miss it.
You should know as much Japanese as possible. Use Rosetta Stone or something. There aren’t that many people who can speak fluent or good enough English to communicate with a foreigner. Have a guide book in English and/or Japanese, and if you get lost, they can read and write English better than listening or speaking.
