I have a second Interview at the disney store coming up this week, what kind of questions should I expect?
I just want to know what questions they would ask so I can be prepared ahead of time, it seems like a fun job with nice people. And is a second interview a good thing for this store?
Hello S. Movie:
Follow-up Disney retail interviews are much like any other store’s interview. One thing that I always caution against is acting like a “Disnoid”:
As a former recruiter for Disney, we would get these people who were so obsessed with Disney in the interview, that we couldn’t get a straight answer as to their skills. They were so excited about being called back that they wanted to walk around and touch everything and were distracted by all the Disney memorabilia or merchandise.
Examples of a Disnoid:
1. Asking about when you can get free tickets to Disneyland or Disneyworld.
2. Asking if you can get into all the Disney movie screenings ahead of time or for free.
3. Asking what kind of discount you can get on Disney stuff by being an employee.
All of these questions will be answered in orientation if you get the job, and are not relevant to your interview.
Do mention:
- How you like to keep busy and maintain the shelves in good order;
- That you are flexible and willing to support your floor team as they prepare new sections to receive merchandise.
- Any computer skills you might have that would help in inventory and tracking of floor sales.
- Any credit card and cash handling experience and exceptional customer services skills.
- Goals you have that are related to improving your retail skills and how it can benefit the performance of the store.
Don’t be a Disnoid and you’ll be okay.
Best of luck with this opportunity!
