Does violence and kids make good behavior?
I know one friend who considers the reason why there are so unruly, stupid and useless people today is because we don’t control their actions with violence. He says, if you sit and talk to a 3 year old about the meaning of life and why not to put their hand in the fire it doesn’t work. However, smack his head and he will know not to do it and its a good deterrent until they are old enough to understand. His son 15 recently tried some drugs, he took his son to the shed roof in the garden and pushed him off it and he landed in a landing zone of some old furniture and assorted trash. He then went on to explain “you see getting high is fun, but the coming down is not. What goes up must come down remember it”. His son felt battered but his son understands the rough lesson and has in fact stopped. What do you think of this method? Do you agree? I do to a certain degree, since in the long run certain rough lessons will cost you less as oppose to ruining your life. So whats your angle on it?
50 years ago good punishment in school with violence – Hardly any stabbings, drunk kids up a park doing weed.
2008 not allowed to go near kids – Stabbings all the time, teenage pregnancy a lot more often, drunk and high kids.
