Will kids make fun of me because i lost control of my bladder in a car accident?
I’m 13 and i’m going in to 8th grade. I was in a bad car accident and broke my arm and my leg and lost all control of my bladder. Now i’m in diapers 24/7. I can’t even feel pee. I wet the bed i wear diapers and soon i have to go back to school. The worst part is my mom said the nurse would have to change me every day. How can i go through school with a diaper on. not only that but being the top brain at school already has its teasing like nerd. I am no nerd im on the basketball team and we won the state game last year. Now if any one smells pee or hears the crackling of my diaper i will die of embarrassment. Only babies wear diapers. But now that i’m incontinent my life is over. The doctor said its permanent and I will be in diapers for the rest of my life. we did an x-ray and my bladder doesn’t hold pee at all it just goes out the second it enters. Is anyone else have the same problem.
Well I just had a bladder lift and a bladder sling and wonder why that is not an option for you. There must be something that can be done to fix this or help it. Don’t take no for an answer seek a second opinion. Yes, kids are cruel and they tease it is just a part of life. Have you thought about being cathed? You could walk around with the tubing and a small bag at school. You could hide the bag with tape to the inside of your leg or your hip area? Do you have bowel control loss? If not then you could consider wearing a pad like poise designed for bladder leakage. I feel really bad for you, this must really suck and I can’t imagine how your feeling. But that is my advice to you make mom seek a second opinion from a different doctor, perhaps they will be willing to help:) Good luck sweetie:) If your anywhere near Michigan I can give you my urologists phone number he is the best!!
