Speed Dating in DC?
After 8 years of marriage, I am single again and am having a difficult time trying to figure out the dating thing. I dont like hanging out at bars, etc. So I ve been thinking about speed dating. Also, would it be weird to go alone? I ve read some of the responses to previous speed dating questions that always say something like “take your girlfriend, it will be fun”. None of my girlfriends are single so Id have to go it alone. hmmmm.. what do you guys think?
Well, from a logistical position, it is easier to fit one person in than two. So if you went with friends, what if there isn’t space for everyone?
The number one reason to go with friends so that you have an obligation to leave with them. That way you can better resist the impulse to leave with one of the men you meet.
I view speed dating like online dating, you are meeting profiles of men when you participate in speed dating. Get the contact info of those that grab your attention and start talking to them afterward. Eventually the real him(s) will show through and you can make a better decision.
