Ticket Scalping!!??!!?
OK, I need tickets to today’s opening game! (Astros vs. Cubs) It’s like 11hr until game time and i’m seeing all these tickets online that haven’t been sold. I refuse to sit anywhere besides the lower level, but haven’t found a price within my reach for section I want.
So, I was thinking about going to pre-game festivities and attempting to buy them from a scalper. HOWEVER, I’ve never done this and i’m not sure if it’s illegal in all states or just some. I live in Houston, TX and really wanna go to the game. Plz help!
p.s. i’ve tried ebay, stubhub, craigslist, etc…but the lower levels are going for like $90+ and I need 4tickets. There are like hundreds of those good tickets still unsold and I want them!
Oh, part two of question I guess. Do brokers like Stubhub and such lower the price of tickets as game time approaches? Cause the game is today!
Part 1 : Someone is going to buy the tickets. Your best bet for lower priced tickets is to go to the ballpark an hour before the game and find scalpers selling them. If not, then some ballparks usually reserve a couple hundred tickets for right before game time so check your teams box office and see if you can get any for face value that way. If that fails, then you just hafta buy it at whatever price the people wanna sell theirs for.
Part 2: No, Stub Hub/Ace Tickets/etc. do NOT lower their prices because the ticket holders who give them their tickets to sell give them the designated prices they want them sold at. You can keep updating the site to see if anyone has put their tickets on at a lower value right before game time.
