When does the 2010 Chinese new year vacation end?
I’m searching on the internet but not one website informs when the Chinese new year ends for this year 2010. I understand it began already on the 14th of Feb. and I read that the festivities or vacation? holidays? are 15 days? Do the Chinese really take 15 days off? Are businesses in China or Chinese related business outside of China closed for 15 straight days? Does that mean the Chinese new year ends on March 1st, 2010?
Traditionally, the holiday lasts 15 days, ending with the lantern festival.
In practise, most people go back to work after three days. I took a walk down town today and the various shops were advertising different re-opening times. About half were open, a few were going for the whole 15, but most will re-open tomorrow (the fourth day China time)
