Where is a fun area for University students in Vancouver to live? (Will be going to UBC + Emily Carr)?
My friend and I are going to be moving to Vancouver this fall for school. I will be going to Emily Carr (on Granville Island) and she will be going to UBC. We want somewhere that will be surrounded with University students like ourselves instead of an older community with older families. But also close to transit areas because we will not be bringing our cars. Any ideas?
Kitsilano would be ideal, if you can find something you can afford. It’s halfway between UBC and downtown where Emily Carr is. It’s a lively neighbourhood with mostly older but nice houses, lots of small stores, restaurants, and a good mix of people but tending towards the younger side. Beach is close by too. The main transportation routes are 4th Ave, and 9th(also called Broadway), so any street within a few blocks of those will be good for transit, and you’d also want to be between Granville and about Alma St. Check a map of Vancouver, you’ll see. Most of the streets in that area that cross the numbered streets are named for trees and battles(Yew, Waterloo), so that’s a bit of a clue in addresses. You can check bus routes etc at Translink.

Men in Black II (Full Screen Special Edition)
$3.50 More remake than sequel, Men in Black II safely repeats everything that made Men in Black the blockbuster hit of 1997. That's fine if you loved the original's fresh humor, weird aliens, and loopy ingenuity, but as sequels go, it's pure déjà vu. Makeup wizard Rick Baker is the only MIB alumnus who's trying anything new, while director Barry Sonnenfeld and costars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (a... |
