What creative alternatives to trick-or-treating can you come up with for Halloween celebration?
IMHO, Halloween should be a creative holiday and not just all about the candy — particularly when many parents are concerned about candy safety. What are some of the creative ways you have or would like to celebrate Halloween?
Some of the things we have tried: Craft workshops, Winchester Mystery House moonlight tours, Roaring Camp Ghost train renactment of Sleepy Hollow . . .
Look up the history of Halloween and go from there. I found it quite interesting.
Google search “History Halloween” or use wikipedia.
How about a ghost hunt? Real or fictional. Break out the Ouja board and candles.
Or a Halloween Scavenger Hunt in the neighborhood? Fake bones. witch’s broom.
You discussed the Winchester Mansion. How far away are you from the ship “The Queen Mary”? That ship’s HAS some ghosts in it (From personal experience)
