Do you teach your children about the Easter bunny?
I personally believe that it is truly ironic how people get all sensitive about teaching kids about religion, but don’t scrutinize generally accepted crap that our kids don’t need to learn……like Santa and the Easter Bunny…..blaming it on imagination…when kids do that on their own without us lying to them. I mean Easter in and of itself was derived from a pagan celebration centered around fertility and Babylonian spring festivals honoring Ishtar (the goddess of sex, fertility…..so on and so forth). Which, the last time I checked, is based on a religious belief…..fictional or not. But yet this is crammed down mine and my child’s throat in schools……but heaven forbid someone says the bible or Jesus in public. Furthermore, it is even more ironic that people who are “Christians” buy into it wholeheartedly. So without ranting too much, do you teach your children about the Easter bunny?
We’re a christian family, we don’t do the Easter bunny. It isn’t really that we think the easter bunny is evil, or anything. We’re just too focused on talking to her about Jesus. She gets an easter basket, but she knows mommy and daddy fill it up. This year she’s getting stuff like hair clips, a new Toddlers Bible, some sandals…ect ect. We don’t do Santa either, but once again, I don’t think he’s evil or anything – we’re just not going to push it at all. We talk about Jesus.
