Last night involved a few too many gin+sodas…
I was hanging out last night with Bill Gates for his birthday. Yes *THAT* Bill Gates.
Of course, so were roughly 45,000 others…
Bono and the U2 crew were in town for a concert at B.C. Place Stadium (conveniently located a whopping 4 short blocks from me). And Bill Gates, born Oct 28th 1952, and his entourage came to town for his birthday.
It was a fun night out, though I’m not too big of a U2 fan and I wasn’t overly impressed by the performance … but it was a good night in the packed stadium none the less.
I kind of chuckled at one girl, 2 rows in front of us… She was there dancing up a storm to U2 and pulls out her blackberry…
I thought maybe she wanted to take a picture with her phone… Nope, I saw her punching buttons and she ended up at Facebook. I take it she decided to change her status to let all her friends know how much fun she was having at the concert.
Ha!
Instead of just enjoying what’s right in front of us, we reach for Twitter or Facebook (etc) to express how much fun we’re having? How BAD is our digital addiction??!
Of course, the other thing that happened yesterday that was nearly as exciting as U2 live and Bill Gates’ birthday was my release of a new article on my website. ;-)
