Edinburgh Hogmanay 2010-11…Children!?

Evening Everyone…

My family and I are heading to Edinburgh this year from 29th Dec – 5th Jan and we want to spend New Year’s Eve all together…there are 5 adults and I have a 1 year old daughter…is it strictly no children at the street party? It just says ‘not recommended for children under 16′ but wondered if it’s strictly not allowed.
Struggling to find something to do on NYE where I can bring along my baby girl…

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Natalie

Hi,

I’ve been a few times and I really wouldn’t recommend it for a 1 year old, especially if she’s in a pushchair. It can get quite busy at certain popular stages (not to mention, bloody cold..!) and I’ve seen parents really struggling through large crowds with buggies before. It just doesn’t look any fun. The Torchlight Procession is a great family event though and highly recommended.

If you do go, leave the buggy behind and stick to the middle section of Princes Street (the quietest bit).
